Ameet Desai is the Founder of Anubhuti Advisors LLP — an Investment Advisory firm that set up Fund 1 in December 2019. This Fund was retired in Sept 2024 with 20% outperformance to Nifty and has returned 2.5x of total investment. Ameet was also a member of the CII Corporate Governance Council and a member of the CII National Committee on Financial Markets. Among various board positions held by Ameet, the most recent is his appointment as an Independent Director on the board of Ambuja Cement Ltd, Ganesh Housing Ltd, Hester Biosciences Ltd, JM Financial Ltd, and Corona Remedies Pvt Ltd.
Ameet has a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years with India Inc. During his last executive stint with Adani Group, he was the Executive Director and Group CFO. He led twoIPOs out of a total of four listings among the seven listed entities of this $160 billion group. He has extensive experience in Treasury, Corporate Finance, Business Strategy, and Organization Building. As the CEO of the Adani Family Office, he has had a distinguished Portfolio Management track record.
As a member of the APEX Team, he has contributed to several strategy and organization-building initiatives. Earlier, Ameet was Global Head of M&A and Business Planning for Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., the largest Indian pharmaceutical company, where he led cross-border acquisition deals in Japan, Germany, the U.S., and France besides a divestment deal. He also completed a prestigious out-licensing transaction with a Global Pharma Company. He had P&L responsibility for Allied business (USD 40mn, 350+ people). As a Member of the Executive Committee, he had responsibility for the strategic planning and policy framework of the company.
In his previous role at Core Healthcare, Ameet built up the organization as CFO with the distinction of having done a GDR issuance at the age of 30. He also ran Operations (US$ 100 mn, 1,800 employees), implemented complex manufacturing projects, and was responsible for critical regulatory compliance.
Ameet holds a BBA degree from Sardar Patel University and an MBA degree from University School of Management, Ahmedabad. During his career, he has attended several executive programs inter alia at The Wharton School and The Harvard Business School. He has spoken at several prestigious national and international forums and conferences, including in London and New York. He has also lectured at several educational institutes, including PGP and MDP at IIM-A.
