Mr. Shekhar G. Patel is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd., one of Gujarat’s leading real estate developers. He has been associated with Ganesh Housing for over three decades, bringing more than 30+ years of industry experience to the company. During this tenure, he has held the top executive role and played a pivotal part in the firm’s growth and diversification. He brings to the Board extensive expertise in design and planning, business development strategy, risk management, and corporate governance. Under his stewardship, Ganesh Housing has conceived and executed numerous landmark projects totaling approximately 22.5 million square feet of built space, ranging from residential townships to commercial complexes.
As MD & CEO, Mr. Patel has been instrumental in transforming Ganesh Housing from a regional family-owned business into a publicly listed real estate enterprise known for innovation and sustainable growth. He oversaw the company’s historic listing on India’s stock exchanges – Ganesh Housing was among the first real estate developers from Gujarat to be listed on both NSE and BSE. Under Mr. Patel’s leadership, the company has achieved a robust growth trajectory in recent years. Sustainability and innovation have been hallmarks of his leadership, including expanding the firm’s renewable energy portfolio to complement its real estate operations. In April 2025, Mr. Patel assumed the position of National President of CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India), representing over 13,000 developers across 221 city chapters in 21 states.
His industry leadership dates back to roles as President of CREDAI Ahmedabad (2007–2009), Chairman of CREDAI Gujarat (2017–2019), National Treasurer (2017–19), and Vice President (2019–23). As CREDAI President, he has prioritized revising the definition of affordable housing, calling for a higher price cap to reflect market realities. He is also leading the establishment of a CREDAI Data Analytics Hub to aggregate RERA and sales data, aimed at improving transparency.
His agenda emphasises skill development, sustainability, and carbon-neutral construction practices, aligning the industry with India’s climate and economic goals. He continues the legacy of his family in steering Ganesh Housing towards building not just structures but lasting value for stakeholders and communities.
